PSA: Please Keep Your Computer Maintained

Computers are awesome. They connect us to the world and help us get stuff done in new and efficient ways. However, if they are not properly maintained, they can slow down, start acting weird, or worst of all end up with a virus. It's basically just like your car, if you take care of your car it will take care of you. The exact same thing happens with computer. The trouble is, some people don't know how to maintain their computers and some people just don't want to or can't because they are already busy with the work they need to get done.

This problem is pretty easy to fix though, with many people learning how to keep their computers maintained from technician and online. Those who don't have the time or just don't want to do the maintenance turn to technicians like myself to perform repairs and/or maintenance as needed or to have monthly maintenance to make sure things are running smoothly year round. There's just one thing, there are also quite a few people who just don't do this and let their computers get worse and worse until they finally can't use it anymore. Only then will they call a technician.

I don't really care what the reasons/excuses are that people have for not calling a technician as soon as they have a problem for maintenance or repairs. In my mind there really aren't any excuses. I don't say this because I want to make more money off of clients, I say this because I want to save clients money and hassle. Because if you don't call a tech as soon as there is a problem, that problem will get worse and eventually you will have to call a tech anyway and that tech will most likely have to spend several hours to fix it. Since most techs charge by the hour, you might be looking at a $200 bill or more. I myself try to charge as fairly as I can to keep costs low for clients but my time is valuable and I need to make a living.

Fortunately, a lot of these high costs can be prevented just by keeping your computer maintained and calling a tech when there is a problem you need fixed. If the problem is caught in time, it can be fixed with a simple quick fix that takes less than an hour or a simple 3 hour tune up. Both of these I charge $50 and $60 respectively. If you find that you need to call in for repairs often, Volternal can help soften the blow by offering free tech tips here on the blog, prepaid support tickets for discounted hours, and the Daily Maintenance Plan for automatic cleaning and monthly health checks to solve problems before they become costly. You need your computer to work all the time for your business or home, take care of it so it can take care of you. Thank you.
